Global Connects is based right in the heart of Glasgow, with a ringside seat to the comings and goings to the venues for COP26.  With our vast expertise in government and public sector interpretation and translation, we also made our own, small contribution to the activities around COP26, arguably the most important climate change conference of all time.

Last week we provided a Spanish translator for a ministerial bi-lateral meeting in Glasgow between a Scottish Government Minister and a Minister from Uruguay, followed by German to English interpretation for the First Minister and Minister-President of Baden Württemberg.

The Spanish meeting was organised by Catherine Sturrock who is based at the Climate Change Unit for Transport Scotland. Catherine was extremely happy that we could help with this important meeting saying “The interpretation provided was great, it was fast and precise, and the interpreter was extremely professional. The interpreter allowed the meeting to take place successfully and enabled a good rapport between the two sides.”

Fiona Woodford, Head of Language Services & Account Management for Global Connects, said, “Global Connects have a strong relationship with all Scottish Government departments built over years of working on the Scottish Government Framework contract. We were delighted to help facilitate these two important meetings arranged by the Climate Change Unit and the Directorate for External Affairs during COP26 and play our part in this momentous moment in history.”
