Here at Global Connects, we have been supporting our local communities for a number of years through a range of charitable initiatives, meaningful partnerships, and inclusive workplace culture.
We believe in empowering our staff to work together, build confidence, and play an active role in the wider community. One way we do this is by creating opportunities for people to connect outside of work.
In March, we organised a cross-team outing to Flight Club Glasgow, where we played social darts, shared food, and took time to unwind together. Stepping outside of our usual roles created a relaxed environment where stronger connections could form between the Translations, Interpreting, and Teaching teams. As we connect more often, we are able to benefit from increased collaboration and mutual understanding, helping bridge gaps between our teams’ different priorities and needs. Mollie, our Senior Project Manager, showed off her skills and snagged the overall win, while Diana, our Translation Team Leader, scored the best single throw of the night!
By fostering a culture of community and collaboration in the workplace, our staff are even better equipped to support local initiatives. This spring, four of our staff members are participating in sponsored walks, including the Glasgow Kiltwalk and the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. You can get involved by backing our staff and the important causes that they care about – click this link to learn more!
As you can see, this spirit of connection – both within our teams and across departments – mirrors our engagement with our local communities. We know that, whether in the office or in the community, we’re more effective in driving positive change when we work together.
Stay tuned for more community-building as we share our fundraising and volunteering efforts in the warmer months.
