On 26th and 27th April 2025, five members of staff walked the Mighty Stride, the 22.7-mile Glasgow Kiltwalk to raise money for good causes in our communities. The route started near our office at Glasgow Green, continued through to Clydebank, then Dumbarton and finished in Balloch, on the shores of Loch Lomond.
Staff picked a range of causes to support and really appreciate everyone’s encouragement and contributions:
- Anastasia Mourgela, Interpreting Team Leader, raised £115 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
- With help from fellow interpreting booking coordinators, Cara and Lana, Diana Konks raised £403 for Sunflower Scotland.
- Leanne Martin, Junior Translation Project Manager, raised £345 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
We are so proud of you all!
Given the long distances, the walk was quite challenging, but staff are willing to get involved again in a similar feat for a good cause. It has been a great opportunity for us to build healthy routines and strengthen relationships, working towards shared goals to improve the lives of those in our communities. Training for the event motivated many of our team members to be more active and incorporate more walking into their daily lives, even if they weren’t participating in the Kiltwalk. On the day, walking together for a few hours offered a relaxed, motivating way to promote stronger team dynamics in a relaxed setting. Staff appreciated the opportunity to take part in something purposeful especially with the direct support of our directors and wider community.
On 17th August, Translation Team Leader, Diana Ayobami, and myself, Translation Project Manager, Antonia Francis, will be walking the Dundee Wee Wander in Dundee. Diana is raising money for The Kiltwalk which is directing all funds to Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4 fundraiser, with proceeds shared among his chosen charities. You can support Diana and this fantastic cause here.
We would highly recommend the Kiltwalk to anyone looking for a way to raise money for good causes, challenge themselves physically and bond with new friends and old. I especially look forward to exploring a new area and getting more familiar with my local communities in other cities.
Watch out for more fundraisers from our team!
