Welcome to our new Junior Translation Project Manager – Lauren Bailey
Global Connects are excited to announce another new addition to our team – our new Junior Translation Project Manager, Lauren.
Lauren is excited to take her first steps into the translation management world, and we are really looking forward to training and developing Lauren in this brilliant, thriving industry. Lauren studied French and Spanish MA (Hons) and has more recently completed a Translation Studies MSc at the University of Edinburgh. We’re glad we’ve managed to tempt her away from the East to work and live in Glasgow.
Lauren has spent time abroad teaching English in Banyoles, Catalonia and an Erasmus term in Paris & Alcala de Henares near Madrid – her favourite place was Madrid, that is until she met Glasgow! 😊 On joining Global Connects, Lauren has said “When reading the blogs online it was apparent that there was a real sense of community within the company which I would like to be a part of. This is the type of environment which I enjoy working in. I’m looking forward to learning about the translation industry from the experienced team at GC!”
Interesting facts about Lauren – she is a gym enthusiast (helpful for reaching the 3rd floor our office is on) and she can deadlift more than her own bodyweight!
One week in and Lauren has really worked hard, she’s already started working on small projects and getting to know all our clients and translators, so far she’s been a great asset and we can’t wait to see how she progresses.
Welcome Lauren!
Fiona Woodford, Head of Language Services & Account Management, Global Connects.
