New Translation Project Manager – Antonia Francis

We would like to introduce our new Translation Project Manager, Antonia Francis. She hails from London but is very excited to make Glasgow her new home and has already settled in extremely well in such a small space of time.

Antonia joins us from her recent role in delegate sales, and recently completed a Masters in Translation, Interpreting and Subtitling at the University of Essex – so we are really excited to pick her brains as she starts working across translation, transcription, subtitling and accessible format projects. She has some practical on-hands Project Management experience from during her university course and is thrilled to be putting all the studying into practice.

Antonia has said on joining Global Connects that “Global Connects was offering the ideal opportunity to develop my Translation Project Management skills in a dynamic environment. Working on public sector projects allows me to make a difference to people’s lives every day. I was also excited for the opportunity to live and work in Scotland.”

Antonia absolutely loves languages and takes any opportunity to speak one of the many languages she can speak – Spanish, Portuguese, Galician and Catalan. She spent her Erasmus year abroad in Spain studying these languages and is excited to work with all our translators particularly those who specialise in her spoken languages.

It has been a very quick few weeks since Antonia started with us, and she has been extremely committed to learning all about our projects, processes and tenders and has built excellent relationships with clients and translators. She is methodical, organised and an excellent asset to Global Connects and Lauren, Mollie and myself are working hard to train her up on the Scots lingo! 😊
