Here at Global Connects we are extremely proud of our charitable contributions, but even more so when one of the GC
family goes the extra mile (or 10 in this case) by taking part in the Kilt Walk 2021. Reka Toth has worked at Global Connects for over seven years, in both the Interpreting and Translation teams, and has always focused on charitable work in her spare time.

Reka has close connections with the Paws for Progress charity and has raised money for this worthy cause in the past with the support of Global Connects. This year, her team mate on the Kilt Walk will be Karma the Staffordshire Terrier, who was adopted five years ago and has received all her training from Paws for Progress students and staff and has been working as a Paws Ambassadog ever since.

Paws for Progress are raising essential funds to help people and dogs recover from the pandemic, through their therapeutic and educational dog training programmes for vulnerable people in community and prison settings.

The people they support are already facing multiple barriers and challenges, and they need our help more than ever to recover from the additional negative impact of the pandemic on their mental health. The pandemic has sparked a crisis for dog welfare, with increases in reported behavioural issues and a huge rise in the illegal puppy trade. Dog rescue organisations are bracing themselves for a wave of dog relinquishments.

Paws for Progress are uniquely placed to support people AND dogs to move forwards to a more positive future. And YOU can help by donating to support the fantastic team of Kiltwalkers! Here’s Reka’s fundraising page https://virtual.thekiltwalk.co.uk/fundraising/Reka-and-Karma

Your donation will be topped up by 50% thanks to the generosity of The Hunter Foundation. These vital donations will be used by Paws for Progress to help fund their essential services over the next year, with a particular focus on helping young people – more details available on the Team page : https://www.justgiving.com/team/PawsforProgress

Thank you so much for donating if you can or sharing the fundraising page to raise awareness!
