We are a Scottish owned and operated company, that delivers language services in Scotland, and throughout the United Kingdom, under the Scottish Government and Crown Commercial Language Services frameworks and have always been proud to support our wider communities.

We have been doing this for a number of years through various contributions to local charities and community initiatives. We have also welcomed students from the University of Strathclyde and the University of Aberdeen in recent years, giving them exciting opportunities to gain insight into the language services industry, as they begin their careers. Younger students have also benefited from careers day talks and workshops.

We recognise the increasing importance of these social value activities and are now further expanding our community, educational initiatives and charitable activities in the different areas where we operate.

We will be fostering relationships with a greater range of educational institutions and raising the profile of the local charities that we support. Students will be joining us for work experience on a more regular basis, gaining valuable industry insights, training and feedback to prepare them for the world of work. School-age students will also be given more opportunities to practise their teamwork and language skills and learn more about language services through tailored workshops.

Through outreach like this, we will support the Young Person’s Guarantee by helping young people to achieve their potential. We look forward to mentoring students and finding new ways to connect with those at the very start of their careers.

This increased focus on social value initiatives will be led by Antonia Francis who has recently moved into the Community Benefits Co-ordinator role. Antonia has been working with Global Connects as a Translation Project Manager since October 2022 and is thrilled to have a more active role in benefitting local communities.
