While there are many great things about working at Global Connects, one of the things we value the most is our team.
With a wealth of knowledge and interests, we enjoy working together, sharing ideas and gaining new perspectives to strengthen the work we do. We appreciate opportunities to collaborate, especially in our Hope Street office, allowing us to support each other with complex projects and time-limited processes.
One of the ways that we come together is through our student internships, giving students the chance to experience day-to-day life in language services and make empowered decisions for their futures.

I asked some of the team what they would recommend to our upcoming interns:
“Pay attention to details and always be respectful to our clients and colleagues.” Diana, Translation Team Leader
“Always ask if you’re not sure how to do something. There are no silly questions and we’re here to help!” Mollie, Senior Translation Project Manager
“Make sure you give linguists very clear instructions and follow up if anything needs changing.” Leanne, Translation Project Manager
Internships can be a real challenge, especially when developing transferable skills which can be used across industries. They require the ability to learn quickly, be open to new ways of working and apply academic knowledge to the working world. Gaining experience within the workplace helps students to stand out to employers and make important considerations for their own careers.
We are looking forward to welcoming more student interns this year as we continue our commitment to the Young Person’s Guarantee. If you are currently studying at a local university and would be interested in gaining work experience with one of Scotland’s leading language services providers, please contact translations@globalconnects.com with your CV.
